YouTube should be just fine with 16Mb down I can watch YT videos on a moving train over 3G in HD, your internet is more than enough!
I agree though, Virgin Media sucks...

Uploads(not watching videos) use the 'up'(upload) speed which in my case is 2MB

£19 ($29) a month (including line rental) with Orange includes all week calls too. Promised is 8MB dl so pretty good result. Upload is awful but I don't upload videos often so it doesn't bother me waiting 40 minutes to upload a video.

i dont remember what they promise me. i think 25MB down and dont know how much up but im getting

I live in Australia.... Wombats run faster than our internet.
In all seriousness I get about 1 MB down speed and about 200 Kbs Up speed.
We also get capped internet. So when you go over it gets slowed down to dial-up!

I live in Alaska so the MAX speeds I can even get are 1MB down/0.3MB up. Some people can get faster, but my service provider is the number one source of lies in town, so... yeah.

I've got 2.6Mbps down and 0.3MBps Up and ping of 20-30, it's all that's available in my area. ;(
I'm on Eircom's 3MB Down/384KB Up package, hopefully NGB becomes available in my area, or UPC.
