How Effective is Instagram?

Hey guys I would like to know how effective is Instagram? does it have a huge benefit on using it? I put my link in my channel, but to my real/personal Instagram page. I made new one for youtube, but didn't tell my subs about it, so I want to know does it help to get subs, and views from there? if yes how and what and what should I do? If it does worth it I will tell to my subscribers about it.

i dont have instagram but one of my friends does and he says alot of his subs have come from instagram so i think it can be kinda effective
 
No. That is not how I would use Instagram. I recommend using it as a way to share stuff about you that isn't what would go on your channel.is a way to let your fans get to know more about you.

so is it still better to leave my personal Instagram that I use with my friends/family the same as a youtube, or just use a new one for my fans/subs?
 
I have a bit of a following on instagram and it has never translated to youtube, the photos where a post about youtube have the least likes and I don't see any subscribers from it

I keep family and YouTube separate. I have a RaceGrooves Instagram account and choose to share certain things with those followers.
