How do you soundproof your room?

So, when I record I like to get loud and happy. Unfortunately, my family doesn't always enjoy hearing my yelling in my room (and I can't really blame them haha).

My room is uncarpeted so it seems like sound just travels further away around the house. I have found that maybe putting a blanket over my door will somewhat stop it.

How do you guys "soundproof" your recording area so you don't disturb others that may be in your household? I don't have money to invest in acoustic panels, so I am limited to household stuff and cheap items

Thanks in advance! :D

Try and convince your family members to ignore the noises that come from your room. I've managed to do that and everything has been smooth sailing when it comes to the sound I make.

Kinda hard to if I'm speaking really loud. Lol, I wish I could.[DOUBLEPOST=1405400220,1405400203][/DOUBLEPOST]
soundproof panels
As mentioned in the post, I can't quite afford those :c sorry![DOUBLEPOST=1405400273][/DOUBLEPOST]
Honestly, Id suggest you just use a microphone and sound proof it like that
My microphone has no issues of picking up external sound; it never happens. The problem is with my loud voice distrubing others around the household. I'm trying to trap my sound to stay inside of my room.

I remember when my family heard me commentating :o

They got used to it after a while, but putting up blankets/fabrics over the walls/floor might negate some sound flow.

I've tried it, and I have a super thick blanket to put up. I just don't know how to hang it up. It's really thick! Haha

I've also noticed that the less space you have in the room, the more sound will be confined to an extent. Maybe get some furniture and go from there?

Haha I know, but one panel probably won't do. I'd have to invest in a few and just don't have the money for it atm.
