Hey guys, so how do you raise the retention rate of your audience? What have you guys tried?

If Infinite Paths' suggestion doesn't work, you can always try to reduce the duration of your videos, edit them down to the funny/important parts. That usually helps a lot.

You have to catch them in the first few seconds or they will leave so if your a vloger say something that will get them interested like a question or a funny introduction

Make sure your content is enticing aside from shortening your videos I have other people watch my videos and see when they lose interest. Then you'll know if you need to incorporate an attention grabber or shorten the content

Keep your video length at 3 minutes and make sure to add good audio/video transitions to keep them well paced and interesting :)

I disagree with people saying that simply reducing the time of your video will help audience retention. Sure, people don't want to watch a feature film, but you can easily engage an audience for over 5 minutes. My most watched video is over 7minutes long with a nearly 60% retention rate (which I think is pretty good).
Moral of the story is to be engaging. I'm still learning this lesson myself, but I certainly haven't given some arbitrary number of minutes that I have to abide by
