How do you set up an account with youtube so you can get money for the views you get?

I know you need ads etc can someone help me out?
 
you need to make a adsense account and when you have enough subscribers and views a day you can go to a network, such as machinima. they will take your income, pay the owners of the copyright that was on the game you played, take a part for themselfes (they also need to feed their kids) and then the leftover will go to you.
i know this sounds like you will not earn a whole lot of money but as you grow your channel your income will also raise.
 
Go to settings and then monetization tab.. It'll walk you through

As to the question 'how do I make money?'

I work a corporate job. I don't do youtube to make money.. That'd be like going to Fat Bstard for dieting advice :P
 
You shouldn't monetize gaming videos btw if you are not partnered because you do not own the gameplay you upload. The gameplay belongs to the company that made the game.

i would say that indeed is correct. you should first try to grow your channel and then try to get partnership by a network.
