How do you make a subscription link?

I have looked up countless articles about how to do this, and they all say the same thing. I've tried doing it with my channel ID, my user ID, and even my custom URL, but none of them work, they either say "invalid request" or "user not found" when clicked on

Does anyone have a way to work around this so I can include a link to subscribe in the description of my videos?

Your question intrigued me, made me think I was missing out on this feature so I dug around. I've posted my subscription url just to show you how it'd look (not advertising!).

Basic youtube url before you get a custom url:

On the left menu click the MyChannel, copy your URL and add

?sub_confirmation=1

at the end. Now it won't flag for yourself but this will make a box popup and the person can click subscribe or close the small popup box.

Edit: I realised that incognito mode is a thing and I don't need to ask people to check links for me :')
