I've Got It
I do a shoutout sunday series on my channel. What i ask is for people to sub to me, be active subs, like the most recent Shoutout Sunday video, and comment telling me why they deserve a shoutout. Do you think that its a good concept or not? If you do and want a shoutout, go ahead and click the "My Channel" button below and check out the series. I uploaded one today so it will be my featured video. :P But let me know what you guys think down below. :D
 
I do something very similar, but on Saturdays :) I have them subscribe, and they have to be active. I think it's a good idea, but keep in mind some people will subscribe expecting a shoutout. I get messages about every other day from people (sometimes the same person) asking for a shoutout. Each time I tell them they it will be their turn eventually, and they need to be active. But I don't think they understand :confused: That's why I only choose active subscribers to give shoutouts.
 
go for it dude! if your active subs are other youtubers as well a shout out can help them out! if anything it will make em smile!

I'm in the same boat. I get people who comment for a shoutout and they haven't posted a video in like months and it wasn't even a good video. Like some crappy camera recording their tv screen and they don't even talk in it. Like I used to do that when i first started, but i wasn't going around asking people for help. Lol.

and that's my goal. I always wonder why people on YouTube spend so much time bickering and arguing when we are all trying to achieve the same thing, to get big on YouTube and help others along the way. :P

lol yeah. I only give people shoutouts if I tihnk they deserve it. I love helping out other people, especially if they are supporting me, but if someone is just trying to use me for a shoutout, i most likely will not give one.
