How do you get custom thumbnails? I forgot.

The phone verify thing for me never worked so I had to monetise to get the custom thumbnails. Even under normal verification and good standing, I couldn't use thumbnails lol Only reason I originally monetised my account was to get custom thumbnails xD all that effort for a small-ish feature.

Yeah, YT is weird sometimes. I don't see why an account needs to be verified or monetized just to be able to create custom thumbs

Maybe to avoid bots or something? It did seem kind of weird but I assume Google has their reasons, be it good or bad 1s lol
