How do you gain more subscribers?

So true, we have some members who are doing everything just like I am, being nice and clever and funny and posting as much as they can, but their content just doesn't hook people, so they don't get the same results I do. One of them actually said I "lied to him" and gave him "bad advice" LOL
 
It's like asking "How do I get famous as an actor?"... there's no straight up answer, it solely depends on the world and whether they like you or not.

Yeah just try to post your videos on forums, or just talk to people about youtube, maybe get peoples skype, and contact them there with your videos/ channel. dont spam though
 
Besides asking for the viewer to sub at the end of my video, I don't really promote that hard. Most of my recent subs have been other vloggers that I watch and have conversations with. It's nice to have feedback from fellow vloggers and active subs.

That's true.. but wait!
My opinion is a bit different and you may not agree with it, but that's how I did and it's my own experience:

I highly suggest you to work on your Content, Make More and More! get better and better! the more you'll make the better you'll get! and no.. I'm not talking about Quantity, I'm talking about: MORE PRACTICE = BETTER RESULTS = BETTER CONTENT and it will probably spread itself more via YouTube's new algorithm and THAN... but only then when you have lots of content (high quality content of course), Only then start think about promoting more than on creating.

You can do both, but remember, You must feed the monster! if you want it to grow.
Be a nice person not only on YouTube but also in Real-Life it will only help you and make your life much better.

Content, Consistency, Confidence. It doesn't hurt to promote yourself on various forums (e.g. Call of Duty if gaming), social media, and collaboration.
 
Post your video on forums. It's amazing how many views I got on my first two videos just by posting on the forums I frequent in.
 
Getting subs is a simple combination of views + good content. Posting on forums can help if you're not getting views, if you're getting views but not subs look at your content. Maybe make a subscribe button and mention subbing at the end of your video. So far patience has been the best technique to getting me subs but I have low views so they don't come often.
