How Do People React When You Tell Them You're a Youtuber?

A lot of people are very confused when I tell them. It doesn't really seem that many people around where I live (or at least where I used to live) even watch YouTubers. Whenever I tell them I make videos online, they have no idea what i'm really talking about.

I think it's really weird, considering I've been watching YouTubers since basically the beginning, and I don't know very many people who even know any of the top channels. Someone on my Facebook recently found out who Smosh was a couple weeks ago. It seems like many people I know only know YouTube of a place to watch viral videos, or music videos.

Your town=my town

When I tell my friends that they ask me what I do. I usually say gaming and then we go talk about a famous YouTube gaming channel. Yeah :P

Friends and family are supportive. I only have 30 subscribers so it's not something I'm sharing at work. I mean I have a good department and they would be supportive but I don't know...I'm still the boss so it's just weird. You have to understand that with Youtube people are either in to it or they watch the occasional viral video people post on their facebook wall. Some people don't get it.

My immediate family knows what I do, while they may not understand completely what I'm doing they're supportive. My friends tend to get my videos more, and seem to genuinely enjoy most of the things I do/talk about. Unless it comes up in conversation I usually don't mention that I have a YouTube channel, it's looked down upon usually for some reason.

Only 2 of my mates knows that I'm a " youtuber", and I think is too much considering that my videos are about a "delicate" subject :)
I'm a little paranoid to not be found :))

Well they ask how many subs you have and they expect 10 ,000 or 100,000 but when i say 2 HUNDRED they get disappointed and stop bothering :P
If only the knew how hard subs are to get!
