How Do People Do This?

I've Got It
I've noticed some people have multiple links to their channel. For example,

YouTube[dot]com/Caspar
YouTube[dot]com/Alfie

They take you to their main channel. However, if you go to /user/WhateverItIs then it says the page can not be found. My channel kind of has 2 names, and I tried to set up URL forwarding but it did not work so I deleted the channel with that name (stupid). I can't get that URL back so I'm kind of stuck and would like to do something similar to that.

I'm not sure if they still allow it, but I know in the past you were able to email YouTube saying you want a vanity URL, and then you had to confirm you owned the account you wanted to be the vanity url. (Lke for Pointlessblog, he had to own the url "/alfie" for it to work).

Here's a video that explains it:

But I don't think they allow this anymore. I could be wrong, but when I emailed them I got nothing back, and in the comments of the video it seems like no one else is either.

That's something you can only take care of while visiting YouTube. You don't need a huge channel-you just have to talk a rep into doing it for you if you own both URLs.
