how did you guys get your first 100 subscribers?

On my gaming channel, I was featured on a bigger youtuber's community channel (a sort of promotion thing). I gained my first 1,200 subscribers from that.

I may be out of place since I don't have 100 subs yet however I see it as my friends getting their friends to sub to me. I also tell people I know at work and at the gym. I figure that's a pretty common way.

I got my first 100 from my Twitch live streaming fans. After that we won a couple of online contests for Web Series of the month/week type things.

In my case, I made videos 3 to 4 years ago. Back then, I made friends with a lot of people. When you do that, more people will watch your videos. It's actually pretty crazy that I got 150 subs quickly, but unfortunately I stopped making videos because of school and work. Now it's harder to find people on YouTube to actually be friends with; well in my experience now it is. Plus, all of my old subscribers don't get on YouTube anymore, so I kind of have to start over. Anyways, make friends with people, give each other advice, make video responses, collab with friends you make, and just have fun with it.

I shared my channel all over, got feedback and yeah. Half of the kids in my year saw my channel, subbed and they still watch my vids. So share your stuff all over!

I have no idea on where to start when you're trying to build an audience. So my question to you guys is, How did you gain your first 100 (active) subscribers?

When I started I asked my friends first! And then branched out and asked them to tell people about me and a month later I had 100 subs! It was fun haha

I have 24 subs (10 Active) I've been uploading videos weekly for about 4 months now and upload some before then and aim to do weekly videos for the time being.
It's just I have no idea how someone would find my videos. I find that most people see the lack of views and subscribers and see that as a sort of sign to not watch any of my content

I just made videos and it kind of just happened. If I was starting today I'd use twitter, facebook, and pinterest much sooner than I did.
