Horror Games, Why do Youtubers do them?

I Love YTtalk
So this is gonna be kind of a debate,

Since youtube got popular with PewDiePie and basically him doing good in horror games, it seems quite a lot of youtubers do horror games to probably say oh they look upto pewdiepie? I mean, if you do horror games, why do you do them? What captivates your audience and how does it make you unique, although i guess people basically just do it and have different reactions, I wouldnt see the point in doing it, if so and I decided to try a horror game, what would you guys recommend?

Now I myself dont play them, but maybe people enjoy playing horror games. Its just like any game really... why play fifa? why play minecraft? its all the same. But of course there is the added bonus of horror games giving funny reactions.

We are planning to upload a horror game soon about a game called killing floor its 75% on steam and even if you pc isn't that good there's nothing to worry about it will still run smoothly

True I guess, I tried it once on my old channel and promoted myself but didnt really get anyway with it, I just suppose that if you have a way of getting people on to subscribe to you that like horror games it would be a good way to increase views. I might actually try as I have amnesia dark decent on steam that i bought ages ago - on a 32 inch HD TV which i am infront of an some really cool surround sound headphones on my newly built gaming PC.

As you have said about FIFA and Minecraft I also agree there, maybe its just the genre of 'horror'

I played a horror game as sort of a Halloween "special" on my channel. I think a lot of people really just like to see others get scared. My video didn't get as many views as some of my others, but I had a blast making it, I definitely plan on trying out another one again later on.

I would recommend playing a shorter game, something that you can find online and finish rather quickly. Longer games like amnesia take time to immerse yourself and the viewer into the game, which I think is difficult to get someone to do if you're not very well known.

Games that are usually not very elaborate graphics wise I feel are a bonus as well because it allows for you to comment while you're playing, whether it's a glitch or goofy looking character model, it just adds more to your video than just you screaming. I'm looking at maybe playing Nox Timore next, it looks incredibly fun. I had watched a few people play it a loooong time ago, but I can't remember anything that happens now. I remember it mainly being stick people, but when you turn the volume up it gets really scary.

I think it's just the fact that people love seeing other people scared. It's funny to them.
It's just like if you play a prank on your friend, because you want to see them scared. I don't know specifically why it's so funny to see people scared, but that's just how a lot of people's minds work.

And I think you should play Five Nights at Freddy's or Swamp Simulator (which will make you scared but also make you laugh) ^-^

Because screaming is fun.

And it attracts views from people. I don't know how or why, but it does. Then again I don't really need to see people scared. My mother is a comedy goldmine. I don't need internet videos for my laughs or seeing people in fear.

Because there are not as many videos on horror games, lets just say outlast. As there are on call of duty. Its also like watching a scary movie accept you play it, and to your audience its funny watching you scream.
