Horrible September

The same thing here. Huge spike during the weekend than sharp decrease (but still not so bad). I agree that this is the people going back to school plus some algorithm adjustments (last year happened exactly the same) .

PS. Sorry for the off-topic but we went to Pokemon museum two weeks ago (Rappongi hill, Tokyo). Movie coming soon! :)

I've posted about this already, but it has gotten even worse. My daily view average for August was about 675 views. Ever since September started, I have been pretty much on a free-fall for daily views. I had one day that was my all time high (slightly over 1,000), but 3 days later, I had the lowest views I have had in a day since June (400 even). I seriously have no idea what I'm doing differently to make this change. I have been on the same upload schedule for the whole month of August, and I am just now starting to see a drop in daily views. My daily view average for September is still about 660 views per day thanks to my all time high in views, but I don't know how long that is going to be the case. Can anyone try to explain what is going on?

Damn you too! I guess i'm not the only one noticing this in daily views(it happened since 25th of August actually). It sure really sucks but nothing you can do much right.

Are you talking about how many views you got in 30 days? The one you see on your Dashboard?

What videos have you uploaded recently?

I'm referring to the anylitics from the months themselves, but I have checked the past 28 days as well. Over this months, I have uploaded a top 5 video, a couple LP episodes, and a Pokemon ORAS update video. I'm working on a collaboration-ish thing starting tomorrow, and I've got a new top 5 video coming this weekend. I feel like it should be a good month.

That's weird. Someone also claimed that August was a bad month.

I'm pretty sure that Pokemon rarely fluctuates in terms of demand and popularity. So, if anything, it's weird.

Don't dwell on it too heavily and keep making! I think the upcoming Nintendo and Pokemon games should help you :)

Also, don't blame youself. These are factors you can't control.

I agree. I'm really looking forward to doing a unique playthrough of ORAS AKA a Nuzlocke on release.

Typically this is what I have noticed for youtubers (myself included) who have audiences that are still in school...Also I have theories as to why this may be.

High viewership during the months of April-August. (Spring break happens at various times in different school districts between late march and throughout April. May is when the first set of students begin their summer vacation. Typically, the last set of students go back to school occurs during the first week of September.)

September and October seem to be some of the slowest months for this demographic. (Probably students trying to start their new school year off right, working on homework and whatnot.)

November is when I typically see an increase in viewership again. (A few holidays are thrown in here and it begins to get to cold to go outside and actually do things.)

December usually has a pretty large spike in views as students are on holiday. Likely the largest spike until the summer months.

January typically dips pretty low again, close to the levels of September and October. (Students in school, new years resolutions etc.)

Finally February and March typically increase leading into the spring/summer months again.

A lot of this is just speculation, but this is exactly what has happened firsthand to me... (With some exceptions in the summer months, due to further variables.)

Essentially, I would say not to worry too much about it. Your audience will grow again, Youtube just works in waves...

Nope... I hate to look ahead, but if things keep going the way they are going at this point in time it will be my best month yet when it comes to views. My upload frequency is going down though, so I'll probably take a hit towards the end of the month. Still, being at 3.3k now I think I am safe to say I'll end up with at least 4-5k views at the end of the month. If things continue I might hit 6k views for the first time... EVER.
