I've posted about this already, but it has gotten even worse. My daily view average for August was about 675 views. Ever since September started, I have been pretty much on a free-fall for daily views. I had one day that was my all time high (slightly over 1,000), but 3 days later, I had the lowest views I have had in a day since June (400 even). I seriously have no idea what I'm doing differently to make this change. I have been on the same upload schedule for the whole month of August, and I am just now starting to see a drop in daily views. My daily view average for September is still about 660 views per day thanks to my all time high in views, but I don't know how long that is going to be the case. Can anyone try to explain what is going on?
Typically this is what I have noticed for youtubers (myself included) who have audiences that are still in school...Also I have theories as to why this may be.
High viewership during the months of April-August. (Spring break happens at various times in different school districts between late march and throughout April. May is when the first set of students begin their summer vacation. Typically, the last set of students go back to school occurs during the first week of September.)
September and October seem to be some of the slowest months for this demographic. (Probably students trying to start their new school year off right, working on homework and whatnot.)
November is when I typically see an increase in viewership again. (A few holidays are thrown in here and it begins to get to cold to go outside and actually do things.)
December usually has a pretty large spike in views as students are on holiday. Likely the largest spike until the summer months.
January typically dips pretty low again, close to the levels of September and October. (Students in school, new years resolutions etc.)
Finally February and March typically increase leading into the spring/summer months again.
A lot of this is just speculation, but this is exactly what has happened firsthand to me... (With some exceptions in the summer months, due to further variables.)
Essentially, I would say not to worry too much about it. Your audience will grow again, Youtube just works in waves...
