Hit a brick wall!

If you've tried new videos for new games and the current audience is not getting on board, why not target a different audience for such new content? Make your channel diverse if you will, target different audiences and give something good for everyone to watch. I think we commonly see our main audience as our security blanket so to say, we don't want to lose them so we don't stray too far from them but we need to take risks, try new things, innovate and go after others who might enjoy our content and media. :)

Wouldn't the older audience unsubscribe if the content strayed too far from what they originally subscribed to?

Try an experimental video and ask if your viewers like it, I see that everything is GTA V so yeah that's going to get saturated fast, especially since the game is 3 years old now. Try a new video centered around gaming/tech/computers since there's a higher chance your viewers have a similar interest in those categories. But, if you don't like those ideas then just push a video you've wanted to make to do more with real life events. Best of luck to you, I used to do GTA V videos all the time but eventually grew tired of it and didn't like the content I was posting. So I waited and refocused what I really wanted to do. That's just my experience, hope this helps.

I'm not going to read every comment here, but, you've burned out. Give yourself a break, and if the motivation doesn't come back, continue with the new stuff no matter the cost. but if not even then, quit.

I don't know how much you depend on the YT money, but right now it is really a choice between fun and money. Aka is YouTube from now on work for me that brings in money just like my normal job, or is it a fun hobby. If you value the enjoyment you get (could get) out of YouTube more than the money, you have to be brave and do the new content. Maybe even do a hard cut, make a new channel or upload a video saying your future content will be X and you won't upload content like you used to be.
You will lose subs, you will lose views, you will lose money, you will gain enjoyment. Now it's a value choice : money or enjoyment. Probably your wage per hour from YouTube isn't worth doing it money-wise.

Been at this for 5-6 months and haven't lost one ounce of motivation, just keep trying new things or actually play games you enjoy -- if you're good you will succeed, YouTube isn't as easy as putting down a video and getting views - you'll need to compete with 1000000 other channels doing the exact same thing you are.

I just found your channel in spite of the broken link. You have over 45,000 subscribers; at the very least, leave the original channel up as a foundation for your video career and found a new one off the same account if you want to do a current events channel; which your original post suggests. I actually like what I see here.

Another problem with doing the same thing is dead subs once you move to different content, I've seen Minecraft channels with 200k subs get 100-300 views on new Let's Play contents they put out that wasn't minecraft, with a niche you grow quicker but when you try to do other things, most of the time a channel will die out that way. You can start moving onto different games and let those who are not interested unsub and those who are, keep watching - a lot better than starting with 0
