Herd Mentality

Posting Mad!
So I noticed my views trailing off over the past couple of weeks and started to look into why. This has happened before and one of the factors I considered is how channels like my own are doing. So I looked at other channels similar to mine that I benchmark and sure enough, they are having the same issues. On the Vidstatsx they have a compare button, when comparing a similar channel to mine I notice the same peaks and valleys in day to day subscribers, its almost uncanny. So the question is, are people that watch the types of videos that I make not watching on those particular days, or is YouTube doing something?

Hard to tell atm since YouTube has been extremely buggy when it comes to counting views over the last few weeks. So it could just be YouTube not counting every view on one day and then adding them the next day.

We've all noticed Youtube lagging and not updating promptly. Does anyone know though if it's something they're working on?

It's not just the views I am tracking, subscribers, views and $$. My whole genre has tanked the past two weeks. I am just wondering if it is just people or something YT is up to.

Well you can't really track other peoples $$ all you can get is an estimate based on the views (unless they tell you, of course) and even on YT analytics it says "Data in this report may be incomplete or missing" on the last 30 day report, so sadly, as of right now, the numbers for the last few weeks are not easy to judge.

No, I agree you can't tell others dollars. You can use socialblade though and if the max has dropped you can say the person is making less money. That isn't the question though, my question distills down to this, when you see these cyclical ups and downs of views, is it the people choosing to not view the videos or something YT is doing with suggested videos, search results, etc?
