Help needed getting on my feet :)

I bought a nikon s8200 and it came with this cool movie editor think its called nx2 but yea i like my s8200 and i seen they have the s9300 and s100 both great point and shoots
How much did you buy them for? Im not a great nikon fan but I do use my coolpix as a secondary camera.... I am looking for a camera for my mates so yeah.

I dont really know about the camera since I'm a gamer, but if you want something free, use Windows Live Movie Maker. If your willing to spend some $ I'd suggest Sony Vegas. By far the best Windows editor. Idk if your on a mac.

Yeah Sony Vegas is quite good on PC; But Final Cut X Blows it away xD Apple FOR THE WIN!!! oh my gosh that was my inner apple fan boy im sawwyy :)

Well, if you already have a decent laptop, and a camera that records video, the only investment I'd say is essential is a quality mic. Camera, webcam, and laptop mics are fine, but if you have the money to spend, a $50-100 US mic is so worth it.

I personally don't sit through videos with terrible audio. Peaking and computer fan noises just irk me like crazy. ;)

Yeah I have a laptop at the minute it's not ideal but I think it'll do ok for now. Probably will buy a macbook at some stage also but it wont be until after the trip. Yeah I know what you mean about the audio, so annoying when it's bad! P.s. Pokemon cover is really good!

Pounds huh!Ummmmmm get an iPad mini then! Their front cameras a quite good hehehe just kidding but i do vlog with it sometimes xD Might aswell get a mic like the Yeti they are worth it!

Yeah pounds. I'm from Northern Ireland :) I'm actually using an iPad ATM but I don't think it would be good for what I'm looking for to be honest I think I'd prefer something on a tripod etc really
