Having a competition on YouTube

ChillNation

Say Hi everybody
Hello there fellow YouTubers, recently my channel has started to settle down and I have managed to get a cosy subscriber base. I wanted to have a congratulations for all the subscribers, likers, commenters etc by having a competition that everyone could participate in. As I have not done one before I was entirely sure what to do.

My channel is a gaming channel and therefore would want to be either Youtube related or gaming related, I am very involved with my viewers and believe I can get most of them and new people maybe from here involved so what would you want if you won the competition?

I need a runners up for second and third place as well, plus it can't be ridiculous like a t.v and I'd rather keep it costless for now due to my channel still being fairly small.

Can't wait to here all the ideas.

Read that, and follow the rules you should be all set.

Since he won't even read them I highly doubt he does. Watching a YouTube vid isn't enough, he should know the rules inside out and if he can't be bothered to do that, shouldn't hold a competition.
The thread is about giving him some ideas not telling the rules though. I completely agree that he should know the rules but I was just saying that he asked for prize ideas

Read the rules?? I just wanted some ideas really?

Basically, according to the rules the competition must take place entirely on YouTube and must be a video submission contest. Any other types of competition need approval from YouTube before being launched.

Well if he read the rules he'd know that it has to be a video related contest without needing YouTube's approval. So basically, a video submission contest is the only way to go. Whether he wants a gaming or non-gaming related contest is entirely up to him to be fair.

Also the submissions MUST be uploaded directly to the YouTuber holding the comp's account, not a third party place. So in his case that'd mean being sent the hard copy of the video and uploading, which will prove very trying.

He also has to make sure that he accepts entries from countries where such things are not illegal or frowned upon and consider the cost of sending any physical prize to that country, if different from his own (he must also state if it's limited to his own country).

This is also a VERY important page worth reading. The comp has to be open to users aged 18 and above. Whether you have to be 18+ to actually hold a contest, I don't know.

I'm not being a moody cowbag haha, but there's loads of rules when it comes to these things, and it's important to know them. Believe me, just trying to help :) YT are really strict about things like this, as innocent as they seem. He could get his channel deleted, it's in his best interests to just read the bloody pages lol.
