So right now, playing through Dying Light on camera feels like a chore. I like those games but would rather play them in my own time.
So play the games on your own time but record the screen. Then go back later and post-commentate the highlights or important parts of the video, or post-commentate the entire thing (if your viewers expect that). Then, at least you will be able to play on your own time...you'll just be providing the commentary after the fact.

I have considered it a few times. And I sorta have done it, by having several channels.
But I haven't scrapped something I've started on just to start all over.

I had thought about it in my low times when I don't progress or things are just going down but I'm glad that I've just stuck with it and I would say the only time to really restart would be some major trolls or there is something majorly wrong that can't be fixed on that channel.

Just re-brand your channel, I wouldn't necessarily delete the videos at least initially. Because you want to have somewhat of a library of videos for your new subs to see that you are active in making videos. I would just place the old videos into one playlist and name is something like random games.

change up your existing channel but dont delete! some of those 55 may want to be a part of this new channel, you owe it to them to show you cared about the loyalty they have already shown to your channel. definitely let them know how you feel, and announce your new plans for the future.

that's what I reckon anyways

Starting over is going to put you back to where you were once struggling. If your not gaining the views you want maybe starting a new channel isn't what you need to do :
  • Try a new series which you will dedicate yourself to and finish entirely.
  • Be more interactive with them 55 subs. Remember that's 55 human beings who are giving some of their life and time to watching your video :)
  • Spend more time on the forums and commenting on your interested youtuber pages. DON'T ASK TO CHECK YOUR CHANNEL OUT, THAT'S A NO GO XD. Just try and get a top comment going and maybe just maybe, the right person will see it ;)
  • Tags my friend!Make sure your video tags are good!Make sure they aren't irrelevant and pointless!
  • Along with tags, good, thumbnail and titles :)
Hope I am allowed post this reply XD I wanted to give you a little advice because I think you have great potential.Your just not confident enough and that brings a lot of youtubers down. Think of the biggest youtubers(notice how I didn't say greatest because they aren't more important people then us, we are all the same) and notice how confident they are.
Anyway, good luck in the future. You can do anything if you put your mind to it! :D

I ha
I've been doing a lot of thinking. I have a gaming channel. It started off with a lot of random posts and incomplete series. I've thought about the pros and cons of starting over.

I'm someone who likes to play mostly RPG style games and casual/strategy games. So right now, playing through Dying Light on camera feels like a chore. I like those games but would rather play them in my own time.

Whereas MInecraft, The Sims4, Civilization V, so on I can play for hours and just relax. Those are the games that I know and love.

The cons would obviously be starting over and losing the subs I have, which isn't much right now. I'd only lose 55 subs, but I could rebrand my channel entirely.

What do you guys think?
I had that idea in my head couple of times but i didin't see any "good" reason to start over :-) And why you just don't delete/make the old videos private and then start over with the same channel :-) ?
