have you done a giveaway?

First of all, I apologize if I posted in the wrong category. Anyway, I'm curious to know if any of you have held contests/giveaways on your channel. If so, how did you execute this giveaway? Was it successful? I've seen channels on YouTube do giveaways to gain subscribers and i think it's kinda cool, but i wouldn't do it. At least not until i have more subscribers or get a p.o. Box. I wouldn't want my home address being sent out to strangers.
 
Hiya there! i see that you do clay work :D I think if you are a craft channel, a giveaway is a great way to engage with your subbies and at the same time gain more in the process. I do giveaways when I hit milestones or during the festive season but yes P.O box is a good alternative to not reveal your address, I just use my studio address when I do mine :D.
 
Most people will subscribe if you are doing a giveaway, and then most likely unsubscribe if they don't win. And the ones that stay won't be active, so your left with dead subscribers

It's pretty pointless doing a give away tbh. People will just use you for the giveaway.

Hey! Thanks for the advice. I'm not planning to do any giveaways at the moment since I don't have a P.O. Box yet, but giveaways during festive seasons sounds like a good idea, I'll keep that in mind. :D

I have done a giveaway. Its a good incentive to get people to subscribe. I gave away 4000 Microsoft points when I first made one of my old channels. I was thinking about giving away something on this channel, but I have no idea what to give!

omg :D haha thanks!!i used to do clay at one point and then i did too much of it...overkilled it LOL!...then i stopped and did plushies instead..theres some pretty good clay videos out there :P get involved with the craft community especially clay ones..you'll find yourself with loads of subbies in no time :)

Well, you're super good at making plushies! Have you ever worked with felting wool? I've been wanting to make something out of felting wool since no sewing is required. I have never used it, but the videos I've seen all use a needle. You're supposed to stab the wool until it tangles up and keeps its shape. It seems pretty cool.:)

well, you can start off with small prizes and wait until you get more subscribers before you move onto better, bigger gifts. The 4k Microsoft Points seems like a really good prize to me. :)

I have but dude you need alot of time to make them happen LOL!...i spent about 2 hours just to get the wool into a ball >.<
