Probably because it has a average rating of 2.5 stars on amazon. Seems that it's incompatible with a lot of PC's and is an older generation model so it doesn't work on newer equipment.I am just going to be a little bit different here and suggest the blackmagic intensity shuttle as an excellent capture card.

Not much more than the elgato, but the elgato is worth it and is one of the best capture cards on the market, in my opinion. Never have had a problem with mine, works flawlessly.

Fair enough. I have never used it personally, but those who I know who have used it have said it was very good. I personally have only ever used Blackmagic's decklink cards for SDI.
