Hauppauge Capture

Hello guys,

Is there anyone here that uses this? I'm having trouble every now and then with it and thinking about moving to a different piece of software (nothing wrong with the hardware, it's awesome!)

Hey Akradon, I've been using a hauppauge for ages with no real troubles that wasn't my fault and I find it very useful. As for whether or not you should change that's totally up to you. What I want to do is keep my Hauppauge and get a elgato as a back up or if I want to ever stream or record multiple consoles with friends. Though I still recommend the Hauppauge. :)

I love the hardware, that's never caused me an issue. It's the capture software that it uses. It seems to record fine (in .ts format) but then when I go to view the footage, it's corrupt or something as I can't load it. No idea why, no errors thrown up or anything. Just doesn't work :/

Wow that's so bizzare I've never had that sort of problem. though my recordings are usually mp4 not .ts, maybe it being .ts format is the problem. Sorry I can't be much help, hope you find a solution. Having a broken file is also frustrating.

Yeah I've had so many times where I've forgotten to select my mic before recording or accidentally recording a youtube video sound into my own video. I recommend when you try you fixes just record a small 30 video stop then check it to see if it fixed it. I't may take awhile but it'll help with future heartache :)

Yea I'm trying to find out what causes the error. Also downloaded some new software to try with it, but it's going to cost about £18..which isn't too bad really.

Hopefully you can fix it without spending money. There will be an answer out there somewhere. It does require a annoying amount or patients though haha. I've literary spent 3 hours looking for an editing fix, which turned out to be extremely simple haha.
