Has YouTube become BORING?

i dont really see it i mean i watch youtube but im not extremely invested into it like others are ive been watching the same people for years upon years i rarely subscribe to new channels so maybe its just me lol.

Uhmmm, YouTube still has the best content for everyone to watch. For me, it's not boring and stale. Majority of what I watch on YT are arcade vids, game shows and vlogs which all of them are my interests. :D

I spend far more time watching YouTube videos than TV and movies. There is so much possible content. If you get bored There is so much possible content. If you get bored, just search and find something else.

Dude I love YouTube! I probably watch more YouTube than TV itself because there's much more to offer.
It is difficult for YouTube to grow and have more variety now but that's because there's things like Vine that are out there now. Either way new ideas are hard to come up with when we try to compete with other YouTubers with ideas of there own.

Sometimes I get that vibe, but as soon as I find a new genuine youtuber with really cool original content it goes away. I agree that there are a lot of the same things out there, but you can still find truly unique stuff if you look hard enough.

Of course there will be people out there who posts similar stuff which is "predictable." People are easily influenced and it may be hard to find someone with a new idea. At least we have some kind of creative freedom on YouTube. Yes, YouTube will promote their most popular channels but who wouldnt when they're proven to help them receive revenue from ads and etc.

You just have to be willing to dig deep and find someone funny and entertaining with a new type of style and help them break out and get noticed. Bet there will be people complaining about a different type of channel in a few years from now.

I think the person presenting the content is just as important, if not more so, than the content itself. This is why I will never watch a PewDiePie video. There are a ton of people playing video games and commenting, and what separates them is how entertaining they are while doing so. Even if the person is a god at gaming, if they come across as another run of the mill gamer nerd that tries to be funny by nerd raging at the game, I'm more often than not going to look at other channels.

This again is a reason why I also dislike a lot of the rant and rave channels where the presenter does their "rage" shtick, when you know that's not their real personality. Too many channels are a work and not a shoot. Being a professional a-hole type character is getting stale.

On the other hand, a YouTuber like James Rolfe is at least playing a character and is a pretty normal dude when not doing so. One of the reasons I like his channel is that I am around the same age and played nearly all the same games as he did growing up. So every frustrating moment he goes through while playing terrible video games is like deja vu.

Since monetization became available to everyone, it has definitely become more of an imitation game than it was before. There's a lot more stuff to wade through to get to the good stuff. But I'll take YouTube over television any day! Now that's a truly boring medium!
This right here! There's alot of good stuff out there but even more bad stuff. In my time on YouTube I've seen loads of these predictable channels we're speaking about here but there's also MANY channels who are original because of the way they produce their videos or just simply the way they are.
