has anybody tried splitting component using y splitters

i didn't think it would work so i gave it a try and it came out perfectly
i think for people who want to use the elgato , avermedia lgp or hd pvr 2 and don't have an hd tv with an hdmi ( some people still have these tv's) could beneift from this

what do you think about this and have you tried it

That is a LOT of Y splitters. Though nobody said it wouldn't work

You're just splitting the signal two ways, it was going to work the moment you thought of it. I don't see any reason it wouldn't.

i thought it would be fading or color distortion because of the high quality (hd video signal) apparently i was wrong and yeah that is alot of cables

I use an HDPVR2 and because of the un-normalized signals that come from old consoles such as the NES, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, etc... I cannot record on the HDPVR2 without video artifacts gathering on my screen. It records fine, but the output from the HDPVR2 to the TV is just horrible with retro consoles. I have to split the signals so that the TV is taking in the signal directly from the console.
