Hardest Channel

My channel is about gaming. When it comes to production, it isn't all that hard. Of course, trying to be unique, to give people a reason to watch you instead of some of the most popular gamers out there, that's the hard part. It is very over-saturated, and I only do it because I enjoy it and don't really have the mentality that I must have millions of subs and $$$ and all that. I've been a gamer since I was 3, I enjoy it so either way nothing is lost.

I think any original content can be difficult to find an audience. If you want an easier path to success, make videos about existing, popular topics that people are already searching for. If you want to make life difficult on yourself, try doing something people don't know about yet and try to sell it.

probably a dishwashing tutorial channel

with special tips and tricks to help you clean various types of stains off your dishes

it sounds interesting but I am not sure if enough people would be bothered to learn the techniques of dishwashing because they're either too lazy, just rush through their dishes or own a dishwasher

I think every niche has it's own hard parts. Vloggers need to shoot and edit so many clips, short film makers need to script, shoot and edit, animators need to hours to sketch and color to produce 3 minutes of content. I think everything is hard in its own way ;)

I second this.

Define "hard" ?

If the definition is lots of effort needed to make the content, then animation, short films, comedy are probably among the hardest. Gaming, not so much.

Gaming is hard in it's own way. If you want to actually be able to do funny Let's Play's, then I can tell you from experience that it isn't always as easy as it seems. You need to cut down the boring parts of the video, which by itself isn't hard, but then you need to decide what parts of not silence to keep and what parts to not. When can you add in text to make a thing funnier? When can you add some sort of effect for some form of comedy? To actually make something funny and entertaining it's a lot more than just "buy Bandicam, buy camera and mic, record, sync camcoder and gameplay, done". I know this from experience (I used to run a Let's Play channel).

Of course, this doesn't apply to people who do things like speedruns and that stuff.

That having been said, it's nothing compared to something like film or animation or that sort.

maker channels, especially for those of us just starting up, It takes a long time to build something worthy for the audience that will actually be appreciated, filming is difficult, lighting when im trying to weld is impossible because i either have enough light for the camera then i cant see or low lighting so i can see but the camera cant, also a lump of spatter hit the lens of my £200 camera within a week of getting it so that was annoying.
As with any other content you really need to be creative with new ideas, but you obviously need the skill to actually build it.
very hard finding the balance of how much info people want on what you are making.

I answered this partially in my other comment on your "big youtuber" thread.

But i'd like to nominate my niche as being super hard to create just one video

To make one freediving video i have to first
1) research and scout a location i want to dive at, looking at dive maps, interesting things to look for, accessibility

2) prepare all my dive gear and keep up with my fitness and skills

3) find a day that i'm not working and also a day that my dive crew isnt working.

3a) make sure that free day also has the right weather/water conditions (sunny, low swell - cant be after days of rain)

4) drive to the location (i am lucky to live next to about 5 sites, but others may take 1-2 hrs drive to get to)

5) actually dive and get good footage (takes 3 hrs). If anything happens i.e. injury, undercurrent, illness, thats it for the dive

6) go home and edit, find music, research on what was seen. And film additional footage for discussion segments

It is impossible to do daily uploads.
I do weekly uploads but its only because i am on top of my schedule by about 4 weeks and i take two weeks off every ten uploads

But i absolutely love the sport i do and by making the videos a happy result of a great day of diving, it allows me to keep going and not feel drained.
