Growth dropping

Growth as a smaller/recently(subjective)started up channel is always going to be tough, especially for gaming. The early part of any channel(between 1-5000 subscribers)is probably the most difficult wall to scale. Stunted growth doesn't exactly leave you with good feelings, but it happens to everyone(there are always exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking). Besides networking, promotion, and continuing to just do what you're doing, I'd say the best advice that I could give you is patience. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be successful but, it's quite rare for someone to start up and immediately become YouTube gold. If you've already come to the verdict that a couple of months is going to deter you, then this line of "work" may not be for you. There is no quick fix nor short-cut that generally leads to anything within the realms of long term positive growth results. Just gotta keep working at it.

Ok, first off spam is not bad. Think of it as an easy way to promote yourself. People just think it is bad because that's what they hear in a "how to grow your channel " video on youtube. The truth is, they just say that because they don't want you to do it on their channel. Do it, and I guarantee that in time, you will grow.

You will also grow a bad reputation at the same time most people dont like being spammed and end up not liking those doing it. It also makes you look desperate.

True. But it works. It doesn't always give a bad rep though, some people find their favorite YouTuber's through spam.

Agree with this and what @TheBatteryChicken said. It really does work. I ***** myself around and I've gotten over 1600 subs in 2 months, and get anywhere between 20 and 50 subscribers a day just from promotion.

Not true. Sure you get some dislikes, but if you are actually creating good content you will get way more likes. On a typical video that I promote I get 400 likes and 30 dislikes which is a 13:1 like:dislike ratio, which seems pretty good if you ask me.

So many people tell me that they are so thankful I spammed them because they love my videos. Not everybody hates spam, just pretty much everyone on this forum is against it because they don't like people growing faster than them.

I looked back when your oldest video was and it says it was only 4 months ago.

Getting hacked sucks. I've been around since Feb 2013 and got hacked in June, then stopped till a few weeks ago.

Anyway, great advice!

Would you rather be the guy who gained his success through spamming or the one who didnt be a nuisance in the process, that is what I would ask myself. It is true that you can get a bad name for yourself, I know a few YouTubers who did spam the hell out of other peoples channels and are now large channels but I cant say I look at them as if they deserve their success when their success is majorly due to spamming other peoples channels.

Its up to you of course but I certainly wouldnt do it not if I wanted a good reputation for myself.

I would like to be the guy who's channel grows. In my eyes spam is not a bad thing, but a way of promotion. An easy, fast promotion. It really does help, and I do not think it should be so frowned upon.

I think the answer to your first question is extremely obvious, and you even backed it up. Of course I'd rather be the guy who gained success through spamming. My plan is to spam until I grow large enough to no longer need to spam. Your second option doesn't even include having success. Sure, this may be a hobby, but I'd rather see success from my hard work. I agree 100% with @Dirtywhiskers990 , I want to be the channel that grows.

I do agree people can gain success by spamming but personally I wouldnt do it because I wouldnt want to be successful knowing that I was leeching off of other peoples success, it is like email spam, we have spam inboxes to get rid of it and we frown upon businesses using spamming to grow and gain clients, I and many others feel the same with YouTube. So many spammers will spam other people and when they gain their success they complain when their channel is spammed, its stupid really. Whatever you guys choose to do good luck with your channels guys.
