Sorry I was a bit vague, It's recommended to only post about 3 identical posts to different communities just so Google Plus doesn't consider that your spamming. Just to say there is no fixed number, it's just to avoid suspicion by Google+ so we keep identical video posts or any form of promotions to a minimum of three or even four posts. It doesn't matter if you word it differently, it still applies if your promoting anything through text or promoting any video. And I generally wait about 24 hours before I post more videos or anything promotional but you can obviously take part in discussions and post whatever you want between as long as its not promotion. Some people say you should wait 48 hours before posting to different communities again for promotion. I've stuck to a 24 hour wait and only post on communities that are for promotional purposes only. If that makes sense, I go off a bit sometimes.
That's good advice to follow. Seems like you should tread carefully in G+ communities as most of them that aren't set up specifically for promotional purposes are sick and tired of spam to the point that they've become overly strict. We haven't tried promoting much but already had a bad experience posting one of our videos to a My Little Pony community that's quite big and active on G+. It was one of our pony hairstyling videos and I was convinced that it would be the kind of video they would appreciate (and it was for a short time). We had some nice views and comments, +1's etc. for about half an hour and then suddenly BANNED. I received a notification saying we've been banned because our post appeared to be from a posting bot.
We made the mistake of not interacting first in the community before posting something promotional. Lesson learned. I contacted the moderator and he admitted it was just a reflex reaction and agreed to remove the ban. He said they get tons of spam so any post that just hints of self promotion ends up having the poster banned without warning. We had every intention to interact with the community but were just a little over-eager to share our video. If we join any communities on G+ or Facebook or any other for that matter, we won't make the same mistake again.
