Google Adwords, worth it?

That is weird...so using Google Adwords did increase your view count substantially but the billing portion is strange. Also what is everyone talking about with quality views? I am considering using Adwords or some other advertising but I'm still undecided.

It is indeed very strange.. I'm definitly not paying 900NOK ++ just because they ****** up their system. I guess I'm happy with the views but it looks sooo bad with the low like/dislikes...

Not sure what quality views is, but your vids gets easiler shown the longer they've been viewed. So "Video played to: 25% 50% 75% 100%" does matter a bit.

Yeah the 900 is what concerned me. I would want to make sure they didn't exceed my max allowed amount. Were any of those monetized plays? Is there anyway to tell if the views are "real" or not? My videos views and what not are all so low it really doesn't matter but I'd like to grow. The engagement with likes/dislikes is low but mine is now with my views too so I guess I'm not engaging enough...I will work on it

Holly crap, 6900 views seems nice, but without any likes/dislikes or comments it does look bad. Videos with similar views have like 20-30 comments and 60-80 likes/dislikes. Maybe they didn't view your video on youtube, instead it was embedded somewhere with no option to like/comment? Still, maybe 1 video with this many views will start boosting your other videos after some time.

Yep..
They did view it as an add, so they could only like/comment it if they followed the link in the ad.
Hopefully it'll be to some benefit!

Well that varies considerably based on niche and quality of content.

What kind of ad was it? Was it just a static ad or a preroll ad? Was it primarily search result ads? What country did people come from (that's a little difficult to find and for some reason Adwords doesn't give you a list of countries like Google Analytics or FB ads do. You actually have to click on your campaign, then click on 'Settings' tab, then click on 'locations' button beneath them, then below the graph there is a 'map' button. click that and you can get a rough idea on where those views came from. There is no way to get a list view (unbelievably). You can download the CSV data, but that is a pain in the a**.

Some more data about where the views came from (what network, what country, what keyword, etc) can give you a better idea of what went on here.

What kind of ad? It's a video ad I guess? I'm guessing their shown at other videos as an ad before or at some point in the video.

I did download the CSV data and it actually gave me a complete list in Excel! Easiest way to check the big ones were to look at the map tho. Mexico gave me 1400 views and Brazil with 606. From there it's pretty even worldwide with views ranging from 2-385 (Colombia was the third highest at 385).

I'm guessing these are bots of some sorts, but I did google a bit and I found these very VERY reassuring posts:

https://www.en.adwords-community.co...y-Budget-set-at-2-Total-cost-186/td-p/208994#
https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Billing/Budget-Set-at-3-50-but-Total-Cost-150/td-p/35958

And double-checking my billing, it looks like everything is fine. Some say that Adwords and Youtube sometimes.. overdo the limit a "tad bit". Which I guess is fine as long as I don't get wallet moths.

But you still got the views as if you did spend the 900 NOK, right? It looks like you got a total of around 6000 views over 3 days? Was your daily budget 15 NOK for all three days? I guess we have to wait to see how much they actually charge you for this. But for 6,000 views I though it would be like $60 minimum which is 496 NOK. If you only spend like 45-100 NOK, and still got 6,000 views, this thing is an awesome way to get views.

Maybe I'm getting something wrong here, but the way I see it is Adwords screws up and advertises the crap out of your videos, but they can't charge you more than your daily budged, yet they can't take the views away either. So what if we set the daily budget to like 25 cents, and let them go for thousands of views. Maybe we should all jump on this before they fix it, or am I getting something wrong here?

I had around 450 views when I started advertising my video, and now it has 6914 views. Over the course of 3 days I spent 6,45 dollars. I gained 10 subscribers. Tho I got 0 likes or dislikes on my video, which in my opinion renders it a bit useless. Viewed time, on the other hand, is good I suppose.

Either Mexico/South America hasn't heard about adblock, or I've been granted 2000-3000 "botviews". Either way, I'm midly pleased with the result and I'm looking forward to trying out my new video, which reflects the channel in a better and more engaging way.

If you want to jump on the wagon while it's still rolling, I'm not going to object it. But I wouldn't bet on it, as this seems to be quite random and rare. You can read other people's experience with the same issue here: https://www.en.adwords-community.co...y-Budget-set-at-2-Total-cost-186/td-p/208994#

Well it seems like for getting views this is great, for getting subs/channel interaction, still needs more testing/calibrating. I hope these aren't botview like you said. I can't wait to see your results with the more engaging video.
