Good quality content

Maybe you better do a research which kind of videos people like to see?

I think that you have to pay attention on everything! even if that means to control your desk lamp for better image of urself in video! as for the content, one thing u must know... it's never good enough! also, great channels have strong identity! think about how you imagine your channel in 2 years, and than, think about if u find that content interesting enough... At least, think about what is the image you want to have with your channel in future.
When you have clear picture of that, than, you should build ur skills to create that image. Maybe even try to take something from the channels you love, and use it in ur. when you know what you need to achieve, then ull know what u need to improve in order to create that image... Aaaand finally, if u have strong identity, that is recognized with dozens or hundrets of ur material, u'll get ur subs, and confirmation that u r doing good stuff!

DISCLAIMER: Of course, this is just an opinion.
Yeah, it's great to research on what type of video people want to see but you still have to make the kinds of videos you want to make. You can't just be dictated by stuff like that. You could end up playing games you don't want to play or whatever. You can keep that in mind but you can't lose your vision. Just making stuff because you researched it doesn't mean your video is quality content. However, when your vision and research match up then you have gold. For example if I just made what people want to see, I'd make nothing but sweets and fried foods. Those types of videos research well, and get the most views, but that's not all I want to cook or bake, so I don't and that doesn't mean my other stuff isn't quality content. It's not always about view, subs, and numbers to me. :)

Lighting, sound, editing are all important. Subject matter is important - these are just examples of presenting your work in the best possible way.

But honestly, if you look at the most successful channels, the biggest thing is being yourself and staying true to your personality. YouTube is 100% personality-driven. In the same way that we watch TV shows for our favorite actors, we watch YouTube videos to see people we've come to get to know. But it's even more the case with YouTube because the format is so much more intimate than traditional media.

So ultimately, the best thing to do is to present material that you can cover honestly and that reflects your personality. That's step one. Step two is to present it in the best manner possible.
