Gimp program question

[Celsus]

I've been trying to find a answer to this but I can't seem to find it. I finished my first image, saved it and the file type this program saves as is .XCF but it's not a openable file, I tried converting it to a jpg, but really did no good. so how can I open these files?

I figured out what I was doing wrong for those that don't know how, just export the file don't save it.

Glad you worked it out! I remember the first time I used Gimp... Although it can be seen as a simple program, there's a lot of simple tasks that take numerous steps to either find, or carry out
