Gaming Channels

I love them but I feel like they are definitely the majority on youtube, everyone is trying more or less the same thing and getting no where which is quite sad

Its some of the easiest content to make. You get a capture program, a mic and editor and boom you can make your own. I agree I think Gaming channels are be coming a majority, but you have to figure not everyone can do big productions or cooking. Plus I think the reason why they are bigger now is because with so many games not everyone can afford to get them all. So if you can't play it yourself go on the journey with someone else and enjoy, and later when a steam sale comes or the like you can get the game yourself and play it on your own. I play because I love video games and I wanted to share that with the world. If people like it that is cool and I am happy to put on a show, but even if they don't I am still gonna do it cause I think it is fun to play the game and feel like you got a hell of a lot of people sitting there playing with you.

I have no interest in watching someone playing a video game while blethering over the top of it. I know the younger generation seems to love it, but it's not for me. I have the urge to smash the PC whenever my kids are watching DanTDM or similar. :D
I generally feel the same way, but if you think about it it's not much different than watching a cooking show or a fishing show, and especially following a vlogging family. As part of living your life ou're watching another family live their life. It's just strange, but people love it. I thought the whole 'reality tv' thing would be completely dead by now, but nope.

Oh for sure, I'm just a miserable old b*gger who'd rather play a game than watch someone else play and talk over it. :D Mind you, I'm not much for reality TV either.

And when people like PewDiePie and StampyCat are making millions from doing what I don't like, it's obvious they have a massive audience (that I'm not part of!)

Depends who I am watching, I watch people based off their personality. My opinion is biased though because I do run a gaming channel.

I like them but i think it depends on the person playing and what game they're playing :) Sometimes i'll watch them if they're playing a game i don't own because of lack of money/console or if i'm stuck on a certain area of a game. Sometimes i just enjoy watching them play through games. It all depends on the person i guess :)

I am fine with them, and sometimes watch some of them. I will probably do a "lets play" sometime down the line just to see what's involved with that. I like trying new things.

I watch 95% gaming channels.
So yeah, I do like them.

Even though I only watch a handful of channels on a regular basis.

Most of it is garbage now. The arrogance of some of these gaming video makers is so bad. There are very few gamers I watch now. Oh, and I don't care what anyone says...video gaming is NOT a sport. Give me a break..

Just have to ask what arrogance are you talking about since starting this I have talked a few fellow gaming you tubers and found nothing but good people.
