Game Capturing How to?

My friend left their Roxio game capture thing here when she moved out and I would like to use it for my gaming channel I've started. And I get it working fine. but is there a way to get it to work on ps1?

I have many games for ps1 that I own that I would love to put on my channel but I don't know how to capture it.
I've gotten it to show once but it was in black and white. LAME.
Is there a way to get it in color as well. Any tricks I'm not aware of?

and it has the wii chords with it. but I can later buy other chords needed so that's not an issue for now.

or is there a game capture device that DOES record older systems? game captures get kind of pricey so I don't want to spend money to trial and error.lol.

and I really don't want emulators as an alternate choice. I have too many large programs installed on my laptop as is, I don't have much room left.(and they are much needed frequently used programs so im not gonna uninstall to make room.lol.) plus I already own them so I don't see the point when they work perfectly fine.lol

I think because the Roxxio is using component that it has the coulours split, because RGB (Red green blue) is video and RW is audio. Are you plugging the yellow RCA connector into the Green port on the roxxio or another 1?
Assuming you've tried it in all ports, you might need a component to AV/RCA converter.

did Ps1 have the funky encoding stuff back then? if not the straight up red white yellow should work
HDCP? No lol That wasn't introduced until Blu-Ray came about. But yeah, I'd have thought the Yellow would be fine for video output as well but if not I can only assume that it's because component would need each colour broadcast seperately, so Red to red, green to green, blue to blue and then combines and adjusts them to suit the picture, but the yellow outputs all colours. EDIT: I have a Samsung UA32F6400AM and when I plug my Wii's yellow connected into the green port it works but it's also got a yellow half on it. I'd try it with my Elgato using the component adapter but I've packed my Wii away sadly.

It's been a while since I tried. but im pretty sure I tried all the combinations. but I was trying on a non hd tv coz I didn't want to leave my room :P so maybe that was part of the problem. I was trying to find a way around the hd tv part.lol.

but just looked the converter up, it looks like that may work. I will have to give it a shot when I have some money to spare.

Oh if it's an analog TV there may be problems lol component is a digital signal. But I'm not sure if TVs work similar to PC monitors. I think you can go from Analog to digital but not from digital to analog, or something along those lines, I remember a superior telling me where I used to work. If it's a digital TV it might not be the issue.

hmm that should be fine then, I mean component is a HD signal but it's still a digital signal, it could still be a problem though but only way to tell is to try another TV lol Have you tried fiddling with the cables? lol My PS3 will display in black and white unless I either hold the component connector (at the PS3) or pull it up. I think I busted the internal connector on the PS3 for component. But with some backyard engineering, I took the cable over the PS3 and placed a shoe on it so it gives me the right colour xD

hahaha nah, I think that's what is suppose to happen. I think I looked it up before and other peoples was in black and white too. and I think its just the Roxio that HAS to be on hd. coz I tried putting my wii onto my tv and it didn't work in the slightest; very glitch unseeable screen.
