GAINING TRAFFIC

So lots of small/new youtubers are wondering how to start and grow, so im going to try my best and break it down for all the newbies out their. First off I would like to say I have gained most of this information by reading many forums and watching many vids throughout a few months, so I have quite the knowledge :).

1. Make sure to post constant relevant videos: this my sound obviuos but i have seen big gaming youtubers randomly post a video about the going to the ZOO, yes GOING TO THE ZOO. if someone subscribes to ur channel its most likely because they love what u present, gaming, vlogs, etc.

2. Make catchy thumbnails: i cant stress this enough not placing a catchy thumbnail will lose u so many views. Think about it why would someone click on ur vid without the flashy thumbanil against someones else thumbnail that has test and a (maybe cute cat picture)

3. Durations: Don't make the vids to short or too long. Anaylzing my analytics and others it seems like vids between 3-15 minutes is the time most viewers like.

If you have any questions or concerns reply and ill try to get back at you.
Also you can check out my channel to see my content and catchy thumbnails.
PEACE

Thank you for sharing your tips. New people needs to find their ways even though it's very hard in the beginning.

Constant relevant (with sometimes variation) is absolutely key. Viewers and subs want to know what they sub for, and with constant videos they are likely to sub. About going to the ZOO, that's because they are too big to fail anymore. If PewDiePie publishes a 4 minutes video with only doog poo, million viewers will still watch.

2. Make catchy thumbnails: i cant stress this enough not placing a catchy thumbnail will lose u so many views. Think about it why would someone click on ur vid without the flashy thumbanil against someones else thumbnail that has test and a (maybe cute cat picture)
Thumbnails are very important. It's the first impression of random Youtube visitors and having bad thumbnails gives you less views. Thumbnails should be distinctive, doesn't necessary have to be pretty.

3. Durations: Don't make the vids to short or too long. Anaylzing my analytics and others it seems like vids between 3-15 minutes is the time most viewers like.
Agreed. Make the viewers want to watch the whole video. That's the art you have to master. And that most likely happens to videos with short length.

Another important part is to bring your video to the people. Promote your stuff, find your own way of promoting your videos. The viewers (usually) won't come to your videos themselves.

Great advice good Thumbnails and consistent posting really helps. Still working on both. Any suggestions of free or cheap photo editing software?

going to the ZOO, yes GOING TO THE ZOO.
That's because it was relevant... maybe not to the channel itself, but for youtube. This first youtube video ever was posted at a zoo. On the 10 year anniversary it became a meme... started by youtube. I bet some of the biggest channels got a little "incentive" to make the video as part of the campaign and slightly smaller channels created similar videos in order to jump on the meme.

Outside of that. Your post is 100% accurate.

i get how its relevant to the youtube, but the youtuber im referring to is dathie denogla, he uploads gaming vids all the time then BAM zoo video. im just saying it was very irrelevant

That subscriber grind is tough. I like to think (most of) my channel is pretty well put together so far. Definitely getting good amounts of views, guess I just want it to reflect in the subscriber count :( but don't let it discourage you

SEO.

SEO, SEO, SEO. There's so much that has to be covered when talking about search engine optimization, but it's worth looking into. So worth it. But...I'm apparently not allowed to post links (I just tried it), so I can't share the thread that I really like that talks about SEO. :( Sorry. ;(
