I've heard it mentioned again and again from youtube experts to "make your audience a community" but i never really thought it applied to my channel.
I always thought it was something for those people that show their faces, post regularly, and have a funny name for their subs as a group.
well Firstly let me recommend twitter for slow uploaders, because it has allowed me to really build an audience off youtube, and is a place where I can share polls, WIP bits and screens from the next video, and ive seen great results with it! people actually care enough to tweet at me, retweet my stuff, and even make fanart!
So this week I have made a Discord server by request, and I've been blown away that over 50 people have joined from me posting one tweet about it. and they aren't just liking or retweeting messages anymore, they are sharing their art, animations, they are talking with each other, and watching each others live streams. It's really feeling like a lovely small community, and I wish I had made one earlier!
TLDR; You can make a community from almost any type of content, getting involved with your viewers is great!
