Windows Movie Makers (WMM). Sure, you can't do those really fancy edits, but it gets the job done and you can still do some neat edits with it.

Resolve is AMAZING

The best I think would be DaVenci Resolve.

That's what I use! but I have a problem of it crashing a lot, so I have to continuously save my project so I don't lose it.

I mean if you need absolute basics and you're a Windows user, Windows Movie Maker gets the job done. It's quite a simple interface, you can add audio tracks, transitions, and its perfect for a Youtuber quite small, with no money at hand.

Movie Maker woks well if you know how to use it. It does have it's limitations though.

I also use Hit film 4 express, its a great bit of software
