Free Advice/Feedback

Because why not? Give me a video to review and I'll sit back, watch it, and personally tell you what I loved about it and what else you need to work on or capitalize on...also, consider it a free view. If I like it, I'll definitely subscribe for me (maybe that's a good incentive for people to reply to the thread).

Anyway, post away! Doesn't matter the genre!
Hello! It's so cool of you to take time out to help others with reviews, not many people would do that unless they were being paid. Anyway here's my channel, I hope you like my content, (what there is of it anyway) and hope you can give me some feedback to improve. I just redesigned my channel for a new future in gaming and vloging, I removed my old videos and an going a new. I have lost my 2000 subs due to them becoming dormant subs. SO now I have this channel! Thanks again! I really appreciate it Shawking

Anytime :). I like helping people.

I'm about to leave for football practice right now, but after I get back in a couple of hours I will definitely try to knock these out lol. Only about 8 left.

I'm glad you actually checked me out..and you really should. Wind Waker HD is a gorgeous game and Minish Cap is almost like it's weirdly awkward second-cousin (because Phantom Hourglass would be more like the direct spin off from it).

Awesome cover. I love guitar cover-esque channels simply because I suck at playing guitar (piano was almost my thing). I like that you show your face in your videos because it really displays how you get into the music. You play extremely well and you have a really good niche because music has been blowing up on YouTube the past 2 years. I'm sure you can hit 10K easily if you keep doing what you're doing.

I have two pieces of very selective advice. The first one is the sliding sound on your guitar when you switch frets. I'm ignorant af when it comes to these types of things, but if there is a way to get rid of the sound, try and do so. Again, I don't play guitar so idk if there is a way.

My last piece of advice is to try and lower the backing tracks. It seems like they're fighting with the melodic line and that's never good. Other than that, awesome awesome awesome channel. If you can play VGM, I would advertise the living hell out of your videos as much as I could and be your biggest fan <333333

Subbed.

First off, hats off to you for actually going through and doing all these in-depth reviews. That's just super awesome of you!

The sliding isn't really something I can do much about. Condenser mics are sensitive and with the grooves in the thicker strings, it's basically impossible. I tried lowering the mids in this week's video (Katy Perry's Firework for 4th of July, no VGM yet ;P), but it made everything sound all muddy. I'll try to eliminate it as much as possible though if it's too distracting.

You mean lower the rhythm guitar and the percussion? There are no backing tracks lol, everything is played by me.

Again man, thanks for taking the time to do the reviews. And as soon as I have free time I'll get back to playing Wind Waker. I think I got to the first dungeon and then got stuck because I'm a n00b. :(

Anytime!

And I'm referring to the harmonic tracks (you have the main track that plays the melody, or the sequence that goes with the lyrics of the song and then you have the instrumental to back it up, I'm talking about the instrumental) - I suppose they're on the rhythm guitar? Not quite sure.

It's honestly nothing too serious. I can see why it got muddy with the mids since that's the meat of most songs. I would say probably balance out the highs and the lows and make the 2-5 dB quieter. I learned that in a music creation class...I just hope I'm remembering what they told me correctly lol

LOL sorry, the last part made me laugh. I was the same way with Zelda games, but after a while, they ALMOST become second nature...almost. :P

I've never taken a music creation class, actually. I haven't had any music classes since I failed it in middle school (the British system doesn't hold any punches), so I'm still learning as I'm going but I do appreciate any feedback that can improve my content. I'm guessing one day I'll figure it out and look back on these videos and cringe.

And cut me some slack, bro haha! I used to be decent, I beat all of Ocarina and Time (best game EVAR) and Majora's Mask back in the day but it seems once I hit puberty my Zelda skills suddenly dissipated. Haven't been the same gamer since.

I've been pretty busy recently, but I've been thinking of starting a gaming channel when things calm down (mostly achievement guides because I'm a chievo *****). I'd love to do a collab when/if that happens, so stay in touch!
