Fraps FPS Drop When NOT Recording

I don't know if anybody else gets this problem, but i loaded up fraps to record some battlefield 3 gameplay. Before i even hit the record button, there is a huge drop for about 1 second every 15 to 30 seconds. I have a sshd which i don't think makes a huge difference.

Any suggestions?

It might just be the capabilities of the PC, some can't handle running fraps and games as well as others, but of course there are other factors that can cause these issues. What are your specs?

I believe it would be that your GPU might the bottleneck for the problem, after looking at a few benchmarks for that GPU it would make sense to get random drops when using fraps. The way you could sort it is upgrade your GPU or record at a smaller video size with also optimizing your fraps settings to where you don't get any drops.
