Just noticed that you can now pick your featured content for returning subs. Anyone else see this new tab beside your channel trailer? I think this is awesome... thoughts?
I was just about to make a post about this then saw yours. I love it, started using it the moment I saw it:
I don't think it'll make a tremendous difference (for me) but it's a nice little update from YouTube that I can appreciate (and that's usually rare given the updates they make sometimes). The "what to watch next" I felt was way too random, but this gives you more control & you can finally make your recent upload stand out for your current subscribers or even make a video you want to promote stand out since channel trailers only work for non-subscribers. I still feel like some viewers still don't know how to actually look for recent uploads from a channel they're subbed too. The only downside is it gets removed once they've watched it & I can only assume this applies even if they only watch 5 secs or so. I'd prefer if it remained there for the duration that I kept it there.
I've noticed they've moved the little "view as" button too which is good. Both the returning and new visitors tabs are great because you can also see how they see it, sort of.
It seems YouTube are going in the right direction with these updates lately. Cards + this. Fingers crossed the next update is default playlist tags, descriptions & titles. xD
i just noticed it earlier when i went to my channel. i think it's pretty cool c: but atm mine is glitching and won't keep/save the video to i chose to show oh well. it's still cool though ^-^
I didn't notice this until you posted about it. I'm definitely going to use it now! Not a huge update, but YouTube is doing something to change things up a bit and I appreciate it.
I have seen it on other channels. I guess it is one of the features they rolled out to the big dogs first, and have it trickle down to the smaller channels later.
