Finding similar, small Youtubers

Is it just me or is it really difficult to find smaller channels in your niche? Or is there a way to look around and find people? I've been wanting to get into supporting smaller youtubers and hopefully meeting new people but I honestly do not know how to.

I think it depends very much on the niche:) What niche are you thinking about? I see more and more smaller channels in my nice (animation videos) and they pup up all the time. I think it is because it is getting easier and cheaper to use animation software. But to answer your question there are millions of smaller channels so it depends on the niche

The only real way I manage to find any half decent search results is searching whatever niche I'm search and then changing the Upload Date to 'This Month' and see what catches my eye, other than that your right, only dancing with the algorithm will get you anywhere close to being "noticed".

I have stumbled on quite a few small channels but looking threw my suggested video views and checking out the videos that are related to mine

So I'm kinda in the same boat as you, my niche is like commentary/opinion based stuff/reactions and its SUPER hard to find smaller channels in this kinda niche. I honestly just keep my eye out as to who's posting stuff on here that's similar to my content or content that I like in general (gameplay/movie and game reviews and analysis stuff are my speed too) in the vidoes/channels section.

Literally, a dude posted a video on here talking about asmr mukbangs and I checked it out and looked at his channel overall cause that kind of video is something I'm interested in. The Video/Channel part of this forum is honestly a blessing in that sense, but otherwise, looking directly off youtube, its pretty hard to find other small creators to support by just looking stuff up.

Click the thumbnail for viewers who comment.

You may be surprised how many have a similar channel.

That's how I easily found like minded people.

Cheers

Ditto and as a "Small YouTuber" I always reply to comments on my videos!!

Typically I will go and check out their channels too!

I'd also add being active on Twitter in the YouTubers type pages and finding them over there. There's tons I've met there with similar niches, interests, etc.

I'm more a "challenge niche". What I would do is go to the search engine. Type, lets just say for example. "Eggnog challenge". After search I would change filter to "upload date". Then I would find all the small youtubers with the same niche as me. This technique is pretty useful. You will supremely find a lot of small youtubers out there you can collab with.

One way is to check videos uploaded today on topics you also do. Tons of videos that never show up otherwise

What's your niche? It may be hard depending on that. If you are looking for small vlog channels you could search "vlog" on youtube and then filter the videos to show you the most recent videos with "vlog" in the title or tags. There is always tons of videos by small YouTubers there.
