Elgato problem, REALLY FRUSTRATING! :(

Posting Mad!
Soooo I am getting REALLY annoyed with this, im getting really good xbox 360 gameplays with my friends but then i have to get rid of the recordings because the game volume is SO loud and their voices are recorded so quiet. I record my voice seperatly so that fine but becaus ethe elgato records the party chat and game volume in the same file theres nothing i can do :l

I have changed the settings on my xbox to make the game volume really quiet but that doesnt change it on the actual recording.... :(

Any help would be hugely appreciated :)

That's not something that can be done in Elgato.. I've found that games like Halo (which I've never found any game volume options) you have to go to your voice settings on the xbox and make sure it lowers the volume when your friends talk. Otherwise you need to be able to turn the volume down from the actual game settings. :/

Unless of course you can get everyone on skype or something to record from there..

Hmmm, have you tried turning down your TV's volume and increasing the in-game volume or party volume?

I have my tv on mute anyway and use turtle beach so my microphone on my computer that i use to record my voice doesnt pick up background noise from he tv

I had this problem before.. you need to go onto your xbox settings and there are volume settings.. turn voice volume to 10 and game volume to 1-3 :)

Iv done that but it only turns down the volume when my friends are actually talking then it goes back to SUPER loud :l and it does it even if theyre silent for a split second so as you can imagine it is really annoying

are they in game-chat or party-chat? cause you need to be in gamechat to actually record their audio well.. the only other thing you can do is use skype instead of xbox calls.

It could be something to do with a wire not plugged in right or a faulty audio wire maybe? A possibility it could be something to do with capture settings or the in game setting/TV settings. I had the same problem with my HDPVR which was brand new and it was the audio cable was a bit dodgy.

Unfortunately Elgatos and the newer HDPVRs don't use component cables they use HDMI cables so the audio cable don't be his problem. I think it might be because he was trying to record their voice through party-chat but he hasn't confirmed this yet. If he was the simple fix is to just use game-chat instead :)
