Does google communities work?

^^Getting involved in discussions and share news, photo's ect makes you likeable in the community and sooner or later people will follow you and even sub to your channel.

It's like with any other social media: If you go there just for self promotion it will very likely not work.

Choose the communities you want to target wisely and show some engagement there. That's the way you succeed anywhere.

Here is my take on Google Plus: It sucks terribly. The communities are full of p**n spam (not anymore), and all the videos are flooded. Don't go for the large ones as they tend to have little moderation.

My guess is that you're using YouTube based communities... And in those communities, specifically, a lot of people are only there to promote, not to find new content. That being the case, Google will tell you WHO +1d it, thus giving them the exposure.

My suggestion would be to get into communities relevant to your content, not your platform. If you read creepy pastas, for example, you might want to join a literary community, creepy pasta fan club, or something related to horror etc. If you're a gamer, try a gaming community. Remember to get involved! Don't just be there to get views. Interact with people. Build friendship or at least commonality.

I hope this helps. I don't know if I presented it in a cohesive order, but... yep!

I really don't want to spam here or anything, but we have a google community page and as I heard it is really helpful for small channels:
"Youtube Channel Trailers" community.
I +1 only the ones I check, so that's 1 view for sure XD
But in a community you have to ask yourself, do you check the videos of others too? Cause if you just go there and post your videos daily it is almost like spamming, and if everybody does that there is no point of that community to exist at all.
