Does Commenting really work?

Absolutely! Make thoughtful comments and people do notice. You can also reply to other people's comments where appropriate.
 
I think it can work. I know I check out people who comment on my videos a lot.

That being said, you shouldn't comment on videos hoping to get checked out.
 
I try to comment ever other day because it truly works for me. I comment on smaller channels work with similar content to mine. Never do I ever say to check out my channel, just a genuine nice comment about the video. They sometimes reply to my comments which shows above the top comments. I've gotten quite a few subs from it, including many subs from the video makers with thousands of subs.

Not really sure... I mean, I comment on other videos, but I doubt people will follow me to my channel. Just like I see people comment on some channel, I hardly feel the need to click on their username and check out their youtube channel.

True, but I mean, for every video you see out there, like say... that one where Beyonce told someone off cause someone slapped her on the butt, all these people are posting LOL and 'guy had it coming' and etc. I'm gonna agree or disagree, but I'm not gonna go around clicking on everyone that replies to see if they have a cool channel.

Well, of course no ones gonna click on every comment, thats why you have to stand out...
 
it can help your channel a lill bit, but dont spam comments over a s**t ton of videos XD It can help your channel positive and negative D: If yu post a hate comment on a vid there is a chance that pples will dislike yoyur videos aswell as leaving horrible comments on your channel D: But one question tho :D If yu have like a top comment, will pples be moar likely to check out your channel or not? :)
