Does anyone have their dms on twitter set to anyone can message them?

I had mine like that for a while, and never had any real problems, but lately this guy who is subbed to me on youtube, and i won't follow back as i find him a bit creepy, keeps messaging me weird things so I have had to turn it off

Does everyone else just keep theirs to followers only or have you taken the plunge and let anyone message you?
 
I have ours set to only if we follow can message us and if I'm honest I couldn't find the option to make it open :oops:
We never had creepy messages but we do get a lot of automated messages telling us how special we are or too check out their channel or whatever!
 
i think it was a new feature you can do it through your settings, i changed it as i liked the thought of anyone being able to message me at first, i was just getting sick of his inappropriate messages even when i called him out on it, sometimes he could be okay but i just don't understand people who do that

Yeah, I don't get it either. Some people are just weird, horrible and creepy and all you can do is try avoid them, maybe if you turn it back on after a month or so he might not come back
 
he will find a way to message me, i would block him but i feel mean as he is technically a subscriber and possibly a creepy fan, and i kinda have to appreciate any i get hahaha
 
Why not just block the creepy guy? If she starts to follow you now he can still message you. So why not nip it while you can
