I'm still kicking on my Final Cut Pro 6... and dreading the day I need to update my OS from Snow Leopard.
I also do a lot of graphics work in Photoshop and After Effects (though I've been leaning more on Photoshop to save time on rendering)

you mean the pop up pictures yoou edit in FS? and then just edit them in?

Yup! In FC you can overlay as many things as you'd like. Video or static pictures. I'll make my text as alpha PNG files in photoshop and then place them over my master video - fading them in and out if necessary. I also can open basic Motion controls and resize/crop/flop images if I need to. I've also been doing a lot in FC itself to save time - for example, all of the images I censor are technically uncensored on the video - I have a censored bar in my file folder that I can manipulate over the images to save time editing in Photoshop or whatever.
