Do Face cam's make a video more enjoyable to watch?

I've been thinking lately. And i have realized that when i watch a video on Gaming or anything like that no matter what game it happens to be i find it more enjoyable when they have a face cam and you get to see their facial expressions. I'm trying to find the right way to put this, but it feels like more of a connection with the youtuber. instead of a faceless voice behind game play. I'm not saying Videos without a face-cam aren't enjoyable but i kind of feel that i sort of enjoy them more. Do you feel the same or no?

YES! This is exactly how I feel about watching other youtubers. I feel like I have a closer connection with the person behind the video when I'm watching them. My personal experience would be with TBNRfrags, he'd upload without facecam, and it'd still be enjoyable, but it just felt more bland than his other videos. That's the reason I do all of my videos with facecam. While I may not enjoy the presense of my face, It makes me feel like the videos have a stronger connection with myself, rather than just another average gameplay.
 
To me it's like night and day. It even helps me to pay attention to what the guys is saying. Otherwise I kind of space out and then get off the video.
 
No. I find them distracting. If I watch a gameplay video I want to see the game, not the player. Some exceptions might apply, but for me facecams are an instant drop.
 
It depends on the person. I've seen some people who are absorbed enough into the game while playing (even when actively commentating the whole time) that their facial expression rarely changes. If that's the case facecams are more distracting than anything.
If you're face is very active then it can be fun. I don't ever think it's a must though, and I think if the video is weak without face-cam it would definitely still be weak with a face-cam.

On "Lets Watch" type videos they are a must, but honestly I never ever understood videos where a person records themselves watching the entirety of something (highlights are fine, non-stop commentary on the thing being watched is fine, but when somebody watches every minute of an entire series with only occasional comments and uploads it... I just can't understand why somebody would watch somebody else watching a thing).
 
Yes I do love to watch their facial reactions while they gaming, they are enjoyable! But some gaming channels can do it without even face cam :D
 
Gaming channels tend to sell on the basis of the personality of the person in the video. Face cam allows many people to be engaging, not everyone can do it without one. The only exception that comes to my mind is RPGMinx.

edit: JesseCox is another, and Dodger. Totalbiscuit and Jim sterling count I guess, they are more critique than lets play though.
