Have Collaborations Helped You?

collaborations can be great but most people are looking for people that are bigger than themselves. So its harder for the smaller channels

Hey, Ive always wanted to do a collaboration but never knew if they would help or not. Ive seen people do collaborations and it has helped alot and some people get nothing. Has any of you made a collaboration and did it help? If anyone is wanting to do one i may or may not do it, it all depends if i like your channel or not :) you have to be honest.:thumbsup2:

I do collab vids most of the time... Does it help? Yes and No it all depends if the viewers like you.

But as a viewer myself, if someone did something that caught my curiosity... I will go check out their channels. And if their content is good, I will definitely subscribe to them.

Anywayz, collab vids always good to have because:
1. You make friends and tons of them.
2. Its fun to collab
3. You learn how to work as a team
4. You get more exposure which means your vids may reach out to more viewers.

These reasons is more than enough to collab :)

Try it!

I think collabs could work well for those who have content people want to see. I've talked to smaller channels who collaborated and got shout outs from huge channels in their same niche and the views increased for a day, but then settled back down and not very many subs came out of the deal. Because people noticed their content and realized it wasn't something they wanted to follow. You gotta have great content that people WANT to watch once they find you, there's no magical way around that. A collab won't change that a bit.

They help as they bring some new viewers. But if you do not have content to "keep" them (the viewers) - than they actually are not so helpful.

Collabs can be fun and really beneficial for anyone. But you will have to still work on your own channel so that it invites the viewer to stay. For those that doesn't benefit from collabs most likely do not have a solid identity for their own channel. I would recommend creating your own idenity before venturing into colabborations.

Just because you have not been discovered by a large audience yet does not mean your talent is s**t. Collaborating isn't about sharing your subscribers - that's an after effect. It's about contributing and sharing talent. If you're collaborating based on someone's subscriber count, that's kind of messed up in my opinion. I started a thread based on that a month or two ago.

Collaborations can help if done right. Alot of people think "Hey, this person is here, here's their YouTube channel, check it out" is all you need for a successful advertisement. Some people may check their channel out but in all reality, it's not really effective that way. The hosting YouTuber has to go into some detail on what the other YouTuber's channel is about and maybe show some samples of their videos for the collaboration to be truly successful. It is also important to make sure that the collaboration is done with a YouTuber that does videos within the same niche as you, otherwise you'll just be wasting your time.
