Hey, Ive always wanted to do a collaboration but never knew if they would help or not. Ive seen people do collaborations and it has helped alot and some people get nothing. Has any of you made a collaboration and did it help? If anyone is wanting to do one i may or may not do it, it all depends if i like your channel or not :) you have to be honest.:thumbsup2:

Collaborations can be very helpful for most people if you can find someone with a higher subscriber base than yours. Problem is that most people don't want to collaborate with those of lesser subs. And for a smaller youtuber this can be especially difficult because at most you can find somebody who has near the amount of subs you have.

Two collaborations I did with a YouTuber larger than me in the beginning of my channel have really helped me with a spike of views and subscribers. After that, I've been growing in more daily subs than before so I think it's definitely a success. I guess finding people to collab with in more general topics is harder, but I have a pretty niche channel and there are only so many people to collab with so it wasn't hard for me. I just wrote them a nice message and waited.

Well, being a YOUTUBER everyone should help each other, I know it sucks when someone who has higher subs have to collaborate with lower subs, but guess what, the audience who has subbed lower channels will check out the higher subs one!! So just collaborate and collaborate :D

About 80% of what I do is collabs. I do panels at VidCon and Playlist and such about collaboration. They are always great. However, sometimes people sub because you did a video with ______, when you next one comes out without that person, they unsub.

I did Grace Helbigs last comment video on DailyGrace, got a few 1000 subs. Her fans really liked me. I did a video for the MEM channel (that I wrote and produced and was in), and those fans only wanted more MEM.

Also, collabing with a similar size channe is awesome. Don't feel like you have to chase high #'s. I would collab with a channel with a smaller audience provided it made sense, and they had an engaged audience.

Thank you all for the great tips! and yes finding a person with a higher sub count will benefit. Also thats why if i do not like there content i will not subscribe nor do a collab with them. :)

I have and I am planning on doing another one sometime really soon. I don't collab with people for the subscribers, I do it because I like them and we have a good idea. Subscribers are a bonus :)

It's really difficult for me to find someone to do a collab with.
My area of thought is so special, that it's really hard for me to find people with a similair mindset. :P

Or people that I can easily get along with. So I'm very picky, with a good reason.
Plus first meetings are always so awkward :I

Collabs are can be fun and for sure help share subscribers! I've only done one collab and gained about ten subs after it was posted
