Do Channel tags actually do anything?

They don't really rank your videos in anyway but if one of your tags is a trending search term then the chances your video gets seen is greatly improved.

I actually at some people at YouTube about this. They made it seem unimportant. However I have them and keep them relevant to my channel, especially for the theme of the videos I do (dating, comedy, tinder, interactives). Can't hurt!

They make very little difference unless you fill them with works like 'naked' and 'girls'
