Disappointed and demotivated.

I Love YTtalk
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted on YTTalk, though today I have a very serious topic to discuss! I've been demotivated from doing YouTube and I need some help :c

Basically, here's how things have been going for my channel. Everything has been going very well, and my videos are still getting some great reception. However, something hardware wise is malfunctioning within my computer. Videos are getting harder and harder to edit due to the processor slowing down. Therefore it's time to get a replacement or else I'll have to deal with very slow editing.

Besides the slow editing, I've been getting contacted by multiple indie-game devs and corporate devs all at once. The most recent video I made was one promoting a kickstarter for an indie-game. Unfortunately that video had to be rushed due to the kickstarter time restraint, but regardless. I did it.

The most exciting piece of news was that I was getting contacted by the Point and Click publisher Daedalic Entertainment. I was initially supposed to review Randal's Monday, which unfortunately. Never happened.

Reason being was that not only did my voice die out at one of the worst potential times. Though, I had gotten corrupted files, missing footage, and all sorts of other issues while producing the review. The only thing I REALLY got done for the video was the script. Which at this point is basically useless. As sad as that is.

So, I'm not only disappointed in myself for not getting the review done, but I'm also demotivated from that last project that never happened :c

I need a hug ;~;

You need to be SuperPawsitive bro! - See what i did there? You liked that didnt you? Yeah you did.

We all go through stages like this, sometimes i cannot even be bothered to press the record button but i do it, because i know when i get into it, im going to have a really fun time. You just need a big kick up the a**. If your demotivated because of the last project, step back, do something YOU enjoy doing. Play some games, bang some chicks, do you for a little while. Tell these devs to do one (or come to me ;) - jk) and take a breather, then after a week or so, jump back on your stead and bang out those reviews!

Don't give up! Hardware failures can be the worst. On my old laptop, I lost a good 6 or 7 videos due to technological glitches and corrupt files. Now, even on my new computer, I messed a few videos up because I had new softwares. Losing videos or missing deadlines you've set for yourself can be extremely discouraging as a YouTuber, but if you can role with the punches, your videos will only continue to get better, even if there's a rushed video that's not as great as the others every here and there.

If YouTube (and even just gaming in general) is something you're really passionate about, I recommend saving up if you can and building your own desktop computer. You can get and make exactly what you want for a couple hundred buck less than a name brand computer.

If you Google "The Best PCs You Can Build for $300, $600, and $1200" the first result is to and amazing blog on LifeHacker.
I used that article to build my desktop PC, as I'd never built a computer at all beforehand. I built the $600 one and ended up spending around $775 in total for a screen and Windows 8.

Now, I don't know what kind of money you have, but it definitely sounds like you need an upgrade asap! I watched a couple of your videos and they're really professional, so don't give in! You have a lot of potential!

If you end up building a PC and haven't before, I highly recommend NewEggs's 3 part video tutorial on YouTube.

Best of luck! :D

And that is why I read the comments before I typed that out. You totally beat me to it!

Edit - Hopefully you can get things all fixed up but until then, don't beat yourself up just do your best because that is all you can do

Of course I like it. It's within my branding fr0nd.

Yeah, I suppose so. Might take a bit to get back into action, but it's definitely something I enjoy. So I'll try and get back into it soon. Implying League of Legends doesn't devour my time.

Yeah, I'm currently saving up to build a super PC. I have a build I want to do already. Roughly $1600 worth of parts, though in the end, I should be able to run games better than next gen consoles, record PC games at 1080p60fps, and have a splendid time editing.

I would really like to have a PC good enough so I can get more into PC reviews. At the moment however, I've restrained myself to only reviewing games on consoles. Funnily enough, most of my reviews are on Nintendo consoles at the moment. Minus maybe Pajama Sam.

Thanks for checking out my videos man! I aim to be as professional as possible. Though at the same time, throwing in some more humor wouldn't hurt! :D

I'll see when I can start getting back into videos. Cause I definitely want too.

*hug* Are you sure it's the hardware? Have you tried a clean re-install? Did you clean all fans?

Your problems with your editing software sound a lot like you may be constantly editing out of the same project. I could be wrong, of course, but if you have a lot of media that's been collecting in your media bin on your editing program, it might be time to clear all that stuff out that you're not using.

Either that, or maybe it's time to move the files that you edit to an external drive and leave space on your main drive for your computer to breath a little in.

I could be wrong though.

I never edit multiple videos in the same project. That sounds like a really good way of losing all your data in one go.

I have over 500 gigs worth of space on my computer, I don't think it needs too much honestly.
