Did youtube take away custom URL's?

So I have read all of the requirements and I easily pass them.

Yet when I go to Youtube settings>advanced

All it says under the Channel settings is "Our Custom URL system has changed. Learn more."

It gives me no option to create a custom URL. BTW I never created a custom URL before so that isn't the problem (as far as changing) I am just trying to create one in the first place.

I have read the requirements are to be in good standing for 30 days. (I have been in good standing all the time for more than a year).

I have read you need 100 subs (I have over 1000).

I have read you need channel art and a channel icon (I have both for a long time now).

So why is there no option for me to create a custom URL? Did youtube simply get rid of that ability?

The ability is still there, however you have to achieve all off the requirements to unlock it. The only way to skip all the requirement is to own the domain of the custom url you want to us.

For example if you want to use , Mychannel as your custom url, you need to own mychannel.com to skip all the requirements.

Warning. If you buy a domain other than .com it will add that to the end of your custom url.

If you buy mychannel.net . your custom url becomes mychannelnet .

Reading your post, I see you covered everything in the required checklist so it's kind of weird they aren't letting you create your custom URL. I hit 100 subs a few weeks ago, and instantly youtube let me create my URL without a problem (well, more or less. They kind of GIVE you a URL now and you have to work around it using your google+ name)

but, yeah! That's weird, it should be letting you do it

Pretty much, I only throw my hands up at this point in that I don't really know what to do. I get the feeling that since I never got one offered to me (unsure if random bugs can exist in google) that maybe I will never get one.

Seems the only option maybe is to just buy a .com domain

I have read on GoDaddy that my first .com domain will only cost $1. If that's true I will go and get the domain right now as that's isn't any money at all.

I will wait for someone to confirm here first in case I have it all mistaken. Does this mean I pay GoDaddy just $1 and they give me that domain permanently? Or is is per month? I see no term on their site about the domain, it would seem as if you buy it outright.

If you have all the requirements i dont know what's stopping you from having problems.Get in contact with youtube support

You should be able to create a Custom URL once you hit 100 subs and have your channel profile +banner done. If the problem still exist, just contact the Youtube support and they will create the custom URL for you.

I have no idea, but I went into youtube and suddenly they gave me the option now and I have a custom URL now. It also worked at first.

But now when I use it youtube.com/c/etc

It goes to "Channel does not exist".

I have read that this problem only lasts a day or two, seems I get all the problems. lol

I got that problem too and it forces you to use their alternative ones. DON'T DO IT. Send to Youtube support instead and ask them to use YOUR custom URL instead and tell them that YOUR one has not been used by anyone. Then a few days later they will change yours automatically.
